Register to Vote!

You can register to vote online in California.

Qualifications for registering to vote in California:

To register to vote in California, you must be:

· A United States citizen and a resident of California

· 18 years old or older on Election Day,

· Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony

· Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court


If you will not be 18 years old before the November 6th election, but will be at least 16 years old, you can preregister to vote. If you preregister to vote, when you turn 18, you will be automatically registered to vote.

To pre-register to vote in California, you must:

·  Be 16 or 17 years old, and

·  Meet all of the other eligibility requirements to vote.

You will automatically be registered to vote on your 18th birthday.

Important information for college students:

“As a Californian living away from home while attending a college, trade school or technical school, you may choose to register to vote using your home away from home address you use while at school or your traditional home address.”
